Our founder's journey began in the Royal Navy, where he earned his qualifications as a Royal Navy bomb disposal clearance diver. These elite divers tackle demanding tasks underwater, from engineering to explosive ordnance disposal.

During his service, often venturing into the frigid waters of the Arctic Circle, he experienced firsthand the limitations of traditional cold-water gear. The need for superior warmth fuelled his ingenuity.

The first prototype of Seal Skin (affectionately known as the SEAL SKIN MKI) was born – a simple fleece-lined wetsuit liner that offered a surprising advantage over existing equipment. Little did he know, this practical solution would spark the creation of a unique brand.

Following his distinguished naval career, our founder continued his diving adventures in the oil and gas industry, working from the North Sea to the West Coast of Africa. Even amidst the diverse environments, his "seal skin" solution remained his trusted companion, proving its effectiveness across climates.

In 2016, the desire to share this remarkable material with others led to the creation of Seal Skin Shop.
